Whitney Houston was born August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey, following in the footsteps of her mother Cissy and better known cousin Dionne Warwick singing in a gospel choir.

After some television sit-com and a collaboration with Bill Laswell’s Material, signed to Arista, in 1983 for the first time enter the charts with “Hold Me” with Teddy Pendergrass in pairs. The next year is the debut album of the same name: WHITNEY HOUSTON. The single from it – “Saving All My Love For You” – that the singer a Grammy Award for Best Song and open the European market. In 1987 “I Want to Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” precedes the second album, Whitney. In 1988, affects the anthem of the Olympics in Seoul, “One moment in time”, but the third album I’M YOUR BABY TONIGHT sells less than the previous. In 1992 – the year she married the rapper Bobby Brown – says in the film “The Bodyguard” soundtrack of the carrier track, “I will always love you” – cover of Dolly Parton – brings the album to sell nearly forty million copies worldwide.



THE PREACHER’S WIFE After the 1996 soundtrack of the film dedicated to the gospel, in the autumn of 1998, the Houston back with a new album titled MY LOVE IS YOUR LOVE and a duet for the film “The Prince of Egypt” by Mariah Carey . In May 2000 they released the double-CD anthology WHITNEY THE GREATEST HITS with some new songs.
Meanwhile, Houston has some personal problems and because of his drug and because of the very stormy marriage with Bobby Brown. Arista offers, however, a contract worth 100 million dollars and she gets to work on the new album, released in late 2002 and is titled JUST WHITNEY. After the publication of a Christmas album in late 2003, the singer still passes from a negative period which comes after rehab and a divorce from her husband in 2007 – four years after the last execution-study is published in THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION.



In June 2008 was released – only on the Internet – the song “Like I Never Left” produced by Akon. In 2009, finally reaches the “hard return”, the first collection of unreleased 7 years old, is called I LOOK TO YOU, and over the track with akon includes 10 other canzoni.
