The group was founded in Milan in 1994 under the name Sleep of Right: change the name and line in 1995, making Ethereal and recording a demo (“Promo tape ’96″) through which they get a contract with the label Century Media. Another change of name, Lacuna Coil, a prelude to the publication of an eponymous EP (1997) produced by Waldemar Sorychta, which gets good results abroad. The debut album of 1999, IN A REVERIE, which has other changes in the line-up, led by the lead vocals of Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro.
Many commitments as live backing band for international groups and participation in the Gods of Metal of 1999 confirm the growing stature of Lacuna Coil, who publish a seondo EP, “Halflife”, containing a song sung in Italian,
“Trance Awake”. In 2001, her second album, Unleashed Memories, but the turning point came in 2002 with the third album, Comalies, coming in, miserably, in the Top 200 “Billboard”.
In 2004, Lacuna Coil Ozzfest are in the cast, and in 2006 they let out Karmacode, published internationally, touching the 28th place in the Top 200 “Billboard” and even wins the top spot cells indies U.S. charts. Several other live performances in Europe, United States, Japan, Australia prelude output in 2008, the first DVD of Lacuna Coil “Visual Karma”. On 17 April 2009 leaving SHALLOW LIFE.
