DAVID BOWIE

David Jones – born on January 8, 1947 in Brixton, London – recorded his first disc in 1964. The popularity comes with the single “Space Oddity” in 1969, a brilliant song vaguely psychedelic sci-fi to the arrangement. The triumph of the year 1972, that of the famous ZIGGY STARDUST – album populated with evergreen songs like “Rock’n'roll suicide,” “Starman,” “Suffragette City”, “Five Years” – which reached fifth place in Great Britain. ALADDIN SANE, released in April 1973, is a hard transition, although corroborated by songs like “Panic in Detroit”, “The Jean Genie” and the gorgeous “Time.” In the same year is also PIN-UPS, covers album.

May 1974 marks the turning point of the epic DIAMOND DOGS, albums and decadent punctuated by futuristic post-nuclear apocalyptic visions. The memorable title track, “Rebel Rebel”, “rock and roll with me” and “1984″. After David Live, was released the following year Young Americans, which represents the culmination of obsession to the soul and which contains “Fame” – single written with John Lennon and Alomar – the first top ten hit in America. LOW instead of January 1977, made in Berlin in collaboration with Brian Eno.

The next Heroes, played on the same but less claustrophobic atmosphere, proves once again a great success. At the end of 1979, Bowie and Eno recorded Lodger, work is supported by some very innovative video as “DJ,” “Fashion,” “Ashes to Ashes” which become leading examples on the neonate, the music channel MTV. SCARY MONSTERS is the artist’s last album for RCA, and is realized in its most innovative period.

After some film and shares some shows on Broadway, Bowie returned to the studio in 1981 for his collaboration with the Queen song “Under Pressure” and the theme music for the remake of “Cat People.” In 1983 he signed a contract with EMI Records and billionaire makes LET’S DANCE, which became his most successful album thanks to the innovative style of the video for “Let’s Dance” and “China Girl”, both songs entered the Top Ten
Following difficult years, marked by some underappreciated work mainly from criticism. The 1989 is the year of the lift with the release of SOUND + VISION, a box set compilation containing some of the most successful artist in both the original version, in that both live. This project replaces what is probably the worst result of Bowie’s career, ie the Tin Machine, with whom he made three albums – two studio and one live – that despite the premises not give the desired result.

In 1993, Bowie once again dedicated to his solo career. Exit the sophisticated Black Tie White Noise, a fate that unfortunately suffers unfortunate because the record company with which it is made – the Savage – declared bankruptcy shortly after the publication of the disc and there is no trace. The 1995 is the year of reunion with Brian Eno collaboration between the two will bring us OUTSIDE, indicated by critics as a return to the roots rock of Bowie. The artist also delivers support for Nine Inch Nails on tour in an effort – unfortunately failed – to win a public alternative.

The eclectic artist back in the studio again in 1996 and comes up with Earthling, album, genre heavily influenced by techno and drum’n'bass. Three years later he HOURS. In 2002 Bowie released Heathen in which the old man finds himself working with producer Tony Visconti, who makes the next REALITY, which was released in September 2003.

David Bowie is back on the music market in 2006 after some health problems. But this is not a new album but an EP titled “David Bowie Serious Moonlight,” which contains the pieces “Space Oddity,” “China Girl,” “Breaking Glass” and “Young Americans”, which accompanies a DVD of the same name, the testimony of the 1983 tour.
