Carole King

Carole Klein – this is his real name – was born in Brooklyn, New York, February 9, 1942. Began playing the piano at age four years and formed her first band, a vocal quartet called the Co-Sines in high school. University meets Paul Simon, Neil Sedaka and Gerry Goffin, with which he began to write songs. In 1959, Sedaka comes to success with “Oh! Carol, “a song written as a tribute to the King, who responds with” Oh! Neil “his piece, however, does not get as much luck. Goffin, meanwhile, became her husband and two gives rise to a fruitful artistic collaboration: the first major success came with “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, performed by the Shirelles in 1961, their next effort, “Take Good Care of My Baby” , is written for Bobby Vee and comes topped the charts, as well as “The Locomotion,” recorded by Little Eva, the couple’s baby sitter. Goffin-King signed with more than 100 hits, including “Chains” (starring the Beatles) and the beautiful “(You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman”, made famous by Aretha Franklin. (more…)

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson is one of the biggest stars of the music scene since the seventies, and as a member of the Jackson 5 and as a soloist.

In 1970 he released I Want You Back, first published by Motown success which marks the first turning point in the career of the singer, then only eleven years old. Jackson made his debut the following year as a soloist with the album entitled GOT TO BE THERE. His fortune and that of the Jackson 5 appear dim, however temporarily after the early seventies: Michael regains fame only in 1979 with the solo album Off the Wall, a combination of dance songs and ballads that allows him to beat his personal record of each sales. The artist continues to work with the brothers at the same time (no more than the Jackson 5, but the Jacksons, after moving to Epic) until his next album, THRILLER, in 1982, a true musical phenomenon, which becomes the ‘best-selling album in history. Michael grows artistically most of the brothers, but remains with them for another album and a new tour in 1984. From his subsequent work, BAD (1987), accompanied by a world tour, are extracted seven singles, six coming in the American Top Ten. Jackson returns to the scene in 1991 with Dangerous than half the following year has already sold four million copies. Just in 1992 the second part of his world tour that ends in 1993. In the same year Michael Jackson suffered serious damage to its image because of some allegations of sexual harassment against him by a teenager, from which it defends itself with a firm decision. History of Music

Origin

The music there from very ancient times, certainly before they will remain historical record. There was no civilization that eventually has not developed its own music system, or that no one has taken, albeit adapted to his needs and tastes.

The word music comes from the word Greek Moyse, “muse”. The Western idea of music is then usually linked to the muse, and in this sense alluded to every science and art that awakens the idea of something perfect, pleasant and well ordered. (more…)
