Tracy Chapman

Tracy Chapman was born on March 30, 1964 in a neighborhood of Cleaveland, Ohio (USA). Since she learned to play guitar as a child and began creating his first songs. It is from 1980, during his time at Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she majored in anthropology and African studies, when he began to compose seriously.

He began singing in the streets of Harvard Square, in pubs and cafes night but it was in 1988 when his voice became known worldwide. It was a tribute concert to Nelson Mandela, on his seventieth birthday. There he sang before a large number of people, and with major music artists. (more…)

ZZ Top

ZZ Top is a rock and blues group that was formed in 1969 in Texas, USA.

The band consists of Billy Gibbons (vocals and guitar), Dusty Hill (bass, guitar and vocals) and Frank Beard (drums and percussion).

From 1970 to begin play in different bars, until 1971 signed contract with London Records label, and present their debut album titled “ZZ Top’s First Album”.

A year later they recorded their second album under the name of “Rio Grande” (1972), but known to fame with their third new material entitled “Three Men” (1973). This album contains the song “La Grange”. With this new LP, the band began a two-year tour to promote their material.

In 1975 ZZ Top edit the album “Fandango”, and in 1977 appears the LP “Texas”.

Two years passed until the group returns to the studies, with the help of a new record deal, this time with the Warner Bros. Thus, in 1979 goes on sale the album “slaughter.” (more…)

Kid Rock

Bob Richie, better known as Kid Rock, grows in the small town of Romeo, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit White. Inspired by the energy of hip hop pioneers like Run DMC and Whodini, Kid began attending groups in the nearby town of Mt Clemens, being part of a group of local breakdancing, The Furious Funkers. In 1988 he recorded his first demo, which yield an engagement with the Boogie Down Productions and, later, a recording contract with Jive Records. In 1990 he released his first album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, which includes a song dedicated to the joys of oral sex, “yodeling in the valley”, a radio station that pays a very brave one of the highest fines ever made by the government to a radio station. Staind

Staind formed in early 1994 in New England, after a meeting between the lead singer Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok to a Christmas party at the end of the previous year. Completing the line-up with drummer Jon Wysocky first and a bassist (later replaced by Johnny April), the group began to be known by playing in the northeast U.S.. (more…)

The XX

The XX – Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sims, Baria Quareshi and Jamie Smith – are four boys in London (Notting Hill, to be exact), dark dress and are very young, only twenty. They meet all the famous Elliot School of Music and formed the group in 2008. (more…)

Linda Ronstadt

Linda Ronstadt was born June 15, 1946 in Tucson, Arizona.

While still a student at Arizona State University, met guitarist Bob Kimmel and the duo moved to Los Angeles, where – along with another guitarist Kenny Edwards – as the Stone Poneys. After a couple of records with them, the Rondstad decides to devote himself to his solo career, releasing sown HAND HOME GROWN (1969) and Silk Purse (1970), these following the third work of the same name, built in 1971 which sees the excellent collaboration Jackson Browne, Neil Young and Eric Anderson. Aimee Mann

The first band formed by Aimee Mann, after attending the Berklee School of Music is called the Young Snakes. Later, the arrival of drummer Michael Hausman leads to the change of name to ‘Til Tuesday: Epic in 1982 and we are offering a contract to the group. The album that flows from it, VOICES TO CARRY (1985), went gold in 7 months. At the time of the second disc, Aimee begins to blossom as a songwriter and WELCOME HOME essentially brings his signature: Hausman it leaves the battery to devote to management and the Epic, unsatisfied, so putting pressure on Aimee writes with Diane Warren. In response, Mann began a collaboration with Elvis Costello. (more…)

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd – the name is a corruption gym teacher Leonard Skinner, famous for his punishment to the students – are formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1965 the encounter between Ronnie Van Zant (vocals), Allen Collins (guitar), Gary Rossington (guitar), Leon Wilkeson (bass) and keyboardist Billy Powell. With the addition of drummer Bob Burns and guitarist Ed King, the band released the debut pronounced LEH-NERD SKIN-NERD-(1973). The band gained fame with the song “Free Bird”, which contains one of the most famous guitar solos in rock history. Dave Grohl

Dave Grohl was born January 14, 1969. Active as a drummer for several bands in the Seattle area. He became known as the drummer of Nirvana, which is the formation until the end decreed by the suicide of Kurt Cobain in 1994.

At that point, as the Foo Fighters, Grohl, where she is a singer, guitarist and author: the history of this band continues to this day. While Grohl has never published anything as a solo artist, is very active outside the band. (more…)

Creed

The Creed was formed in 1995 in the United States, the meeting of the singer Scott Stapp with guitarist Mark Tremonti. In February 1997 the band released their debut album My Own Prison, as well as Stapp and Tremonti are part of the drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall. The album proves to be a great success, so that sold over four million copies worldwide. In 1999, after winning a Billboard Music Award in the category ‘Rock Artist of the Year’, the band released their second album, Human Clay, which surpasses its predecessor in sales. (more…)
