Peter Brian Gabriel was born on February 13, 1950 in Surrey, England.

Peter founded the group Genesis in 1967 with his schoolmates Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips, Mike Rutherford, and Chris Stewart. With them launched a series of records, and managed to make the band a cult.

Peter Gabriel left the group in 1975 for personal reasons, and two years later released her first album, titled “Peter Gabriel”, like their first four albums, as Peter refused to label them with a specific name. However, the album covers vary. This album was produced by Bob Ezrin, and the first single to be extracted from this material was “Solsbury Hill”, an autobiographical piece that expresses his feelings on leaving Genesis.
<!--

A year later he released his second album also titled “Peter Gabriel”. This album was produced by guitarist Robert Fripp (of King Crimson). This LP is considered experimental and darker than before, but failed to establish any hit.

1980 saw the third “Peter Gabriel”, which was assisted by Steve Lillywhite (who also produced the first records of U2 ). Highlights of this material, both “Games Without Frontiers” and “Biko”. From this time comes the interest of Peter Gabriel for the genre “world music” and especially percussion. Phil Collins played drums on several songs on the disc.

Two years after the sale goes to his fourth and final self-titled album. This album, renamed in the U.S. under the title “Security” by the record company Geffen Records. This album managed to sell quite well thanks to the single “Shock the Monkey”.

Peter Gabriel made a series of tours promoting each of the LPs, building on each treatment show dramatic and theatrical (which had already begun at the time of Genesis). Thus, in 1983, appears on the market a collection of all the presentations that had been carried out Gabriel. This album was titled “Plays Live”.

In 1985 Peter Gabriel created the soundtrack for the film “Birdy” by Alan Parker. A year later he returned to the studio to give life to the album “So”. This album shows his well-known song “Sledgehammer”, which made it to No. 1 in the charts of the United States. And with “Sledgehammer” music video recorded a quite original in collaboration with director Stephen R.
Following a tour opening for Alice In Chains in the beginning to be known, decided to change its name to Pearl Jam. Apparently, it was based on a recipe prepared Eddie Vedder’s grandmother and had hallucinogenic effects.

They have been accused at times of radical change of style. Perhaps it was because of changes that have occurred in the formation of the band and their desire to experience new sounds, but what is certain is that still in the top of the rock.

In 2006, fifteen years after the formation of Pearl Jam, the band published a new work entitled “Pearl Jam”, the first single from it has been “World Wide Suicide”. “Pearl Jam” contains 13 new tracks from the band, in the spirit of the early records.
